Hello Girls~

I built a time machine! Just kidding. But I was wondering if there was such a thing, what era would you like to visit for a week?

My choice would be 40's or 50's, to me that would be the best time to live. All the dancing, outfits, music, ect. ect. ect. The only downfall would be WWII, but afterall, it's only for a week!

Love,
Jacqueline

Hmm that's a hard decision. I'm a WW2 junky...but at the same time I would love to live during the roaring 20's. I have to say I'd want to live pre civil war in the south. Be a true Southern Belle.

Believe it or not, I actually like the time I live in right now. Running water, medical care, electricity...
But if it was only for a week I would probably choose the 30's and 40's.

Cool! I like the the time we live in now too, but I like the 40's and 50's too. Sometimes I think I was born in the wrong era.
And I couldn't live without electricity! I really despise certain eras, such as when Laura Ingells lived and cowboys and that stuff. I see some people wearing cowboy hats now and then or little house on the pairie outfits, that just isn't me! No offence if anyone likes those eras, I just am to lazy to live in them.
Sorry if I have horried spelling, I have to go eat.

I think I'd have to go with Jacqueline's, but I still like the era right now.

I also would like early 1800's like Pride and Prejudice time.
I volunteer at a colonial farm (where George WAshington stayed) and so ite like 1770's. It's really fun to dress up and reenacte but it was too much hard work then!!
go 50's!!!

oh that would be hard! I like so many times,I love Jacqueline's time I like early 1800's I like mj's time and believe it or not Audree I love Laura's time, well that is her childhood, you cant really define a time period as Laura's time cause she lived through so many times, her life was so amazing, she traveled America in a covered wagon and later in her life owned a car!

I would hate to live during Laura's time, I am way to lazy to have to move in a covered wagon, live in a log cabin, or wear bonnets. I don't really care for the music, outfits, and lifestyle of the pioneers. But I can see how people would, lots of people adore that time era. I can see how it would appeal to people.

I feel like dancing! My brothers got an old record player in the basement. They are dancing like crazy! They can't get the player to go slow enough though, so Johnny Cash sounds more like mickey mouse.

idk but I had this weird fear of time traveling. I don't like reading books about time or time travel or space-time or anything like that, so I probably wouldn't go anywhere even if I had the chance

how are they dancing without skipping the record?

Switch is stuck. :(
I know this sounds stupid but what does skipping the record mean? Is it from bouncing to much? We are doing it on a cement floor so it doesn't bounce.
What kind of records do you listen to on your record player?
Laura rode on a air plane????????????????? WOW!

Ive only gone on one once.
I know isant it cool?! it was a small old fashion one I guess.
well when some one jumps or if something falls the needle moves cousing it to skip ahead.
well my brother took it into his room so I don't listen to it very often,we have tuns of old records that were my Mom and Dad's,we have a bunch of old Christmas records that I love and then we have some my Mom has several from her childhood, bobby and betty go to the moon, happy monsters, ragety (spelling?) anne and andy, ect. ect. ect. we havemy Dad has a few from his teen years that I dislike cause I can't stand 80's stuff,we have two beetles albums, one from the 60's and one from the 70's and the actual records are colored which is cool, the 60's one is kind of transparents red and the 70's one is transparent blue, they look really cool oh and we have another beetles one but it's just black,we have one that my Mom is on,she played flute and piccolo in high school and still do's now, she's really good, anyway we have some other ones I geuss but Im not sure what,I wish we had really old ones but we don't.

Records are amazing...a bit of history. WE have two new record players but tons of my dad's old records. I love all the classic rock...and musicals.
Now......here's a question, why would you want to visit a certain time period?

When I was little, I never wanted to travel back in time because they used in OUTHOUSE! Hahahaha! Actually, my sister thinks time travel is very scary! BTW, have you read the book Time Machine or heard of the show Doctor Who? It all has something to do with Time travel. Anyway, I don't really care which era I go to, because they all sound fun, as long as I get to go back home! I don't want to get stuck in that place forever!

hmm
maybe depression/wwii

but as for the 60's/70's/80's/90's, I look at the fashion and think eeeeeeewwwwwwww

You know, actually the fashion now is kinda stupid too. Kids from the future are going to look back at us and think eww skinny jeans and shirts with brand names on it! (btw I hate wearing shirts with brand names on them. You advertise for a company and don't get paid XD)

lol! yeah I don't even wear juniors clothes because the trends are super ugly.I like to wear pretty classic pieces:)
I got a dEliA*s catalog the other day and there were only a couple cute things.
I especially hate the colored skinny jeans, they look so weird.
I was looking at wedding and formal dresses on Posh Girl Vintage and I saw so many dresses that they called wedding dresses that werent anything like wedding dresses today, there were several that were tea length.they were pretty but I cant imagine wearing one for a wedding.I want one like my Grandmother's.
oh I LOVE box coats! there so adorable,I love the fur and everything, its so glamorous:):):):):) some day I have just got to splurg a little and buy one.

XD some of my friends really like the colored skinny jeans. When we went on the class DC trip you weren't allowed to dress too casual, so you couldn't wear blue jeans, but you were allowed to wear colored skinny jeans. Isn't that weird?

oh all the weird casaroles (sorry I don't feel like taking time to spell), cream of mushroom soup, cabbage, cheese and hamburger just should not be combined, ok so I made that up but really everything was a tv dinner, a casarole containg cream of mushroom soup some other common things and potato chips on top, boiled hot dogs, meat loaf (or as I like to call it, weird loaf, I actually won the green card when I played apples to apples for putting down meatloaf as scary!),boiled cabbage, ect.
I know it's off track but speaking of food, last year for my confirmation retreat for meals we had to eat at the "dinning hall" (which I called the mess tent) and the food was awful, the other kids did not seem to mind it that much but I have been raised eating meals just from scatch and a slice of turkey that was like lunch meat, some canned corn, scary green stuffing and packaged gravy did not appeal to, oh and the spaghetti sauce at lunch was like plain tomato sauce with sugar and salt, not even pepper, even the other kids hated it, and breakfeast as not any better, oh well I had fun the rest of the time, and at least I something to eat, I know there are children in our country and all over the world who die from starvation.
